We’re swapping our mutual exchange service to give you more choice and make it simpler to find a home that works for you.
From 3 July, we’ll be partnering with HomeSwapper, one of the UK’s leading mutual exchange platforms. This means HomeSwapper will replace House Exchange, offering a more modern and user-friendly way to search for a swap.
What is mutual exchange?
Mutual exchange is when tenants living in a housing association or council property agree to swap homes.
If your tenancy allows it and you meet the criteria, it can be a great way to:
- Move to a new area
- Find a home that better suits your household
- Upsize or downsize as your needs change
A better way to find your next home
We want to make moving as straightforward as possible. That’s why we’re introducing HomeSwapper.
- With HomeSwapper, you’ll benefit from:
- A large choice of homes across the UK
- Smart matching to help you find the right options faster
An easy-to-use platform to manage your search from start to finish
It’s all designed to give you more opportunities and a smoother experience when looking for your next home.
What you need to do
For many customers, switching over will be simple:
- If you’re already using HomeSwapper, you can carry on as normal – and it’s free to use
- If you’re registered with House Exchange, you’ll need to set up a new HomeSwapper account
Unfortunately, your existing details won’t transfer across, so you’ll need to re-enter your information when you register.
House Exchange will remain available until 31 July, giving you time to make the switch.
We’re here to help
Creating a HomeSwapper account is quick and straightforward, but if you need a hand, we’re here for you.
