This September, Accent colleagues headed out into communities across the country for our Big Local Conversation – and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat and shared their views with us.
Across the two days, we had 1,729 conversations with customers and collected 4,539 individual pieces of feedback about homes, neighbourhoods and the things that matter most locally.
The Big Local Conversation is about listening to customers where they live and understanding what makes each community different. We wanted to hear what you value, what’s working well and where you think we should focus our attention next.
And your feedback is already giving us a much clearer picture.
What have customers told us?
Some strong themes are beginning to emerge from the conversations.
Around 1 in 4 customers talked about the importance of clean, tidy and well-maintained neighbourhoods. This included things such as gardens, grass cutting, trees, communal areas, bins, rubbish and fly-tipping.
Around 1 in 6 talked about repairs, maintenance and improvements to their homes, including things such as kitchens, bathrooms, heating and windows.
We also heard lots about the things customers value about Accent.
Around 1 in 6 customers mentioned our colleagues, Housing Partners and the support they receive as one of the things they value most.
Customers also told us how important it is to have a good home, feel safe and secure, and live in a neighbourhood they can feel proud of.
There was positive feedback too, with around 1 in 8 customers telling us they were happy with things as they are or couldn’t think of anything they wanted to change.
What happens next?
We’re continuing to work through everything customers told us so we can understand the priorities in different communities.
That feedback will help us build a clearer picture of what matters locally and where we need to focus our attention. We’ll share more about what we heard – and what happens next – once the feedback has been fully analysed.
