Families in Bradford will have more opportunities to get online, build their digital skills and access important services thanks to a donation of ten laptops from Accent to Cavendish Primary School.
The school, which is part of Exceed Academies Trust, will use the laptops to support local parents and families through community sessions, digital skills training and employment support workshops.
For many of us, being able to get online is part of everyday life. But not everyone has the same access to technology or the confidence to use it. That can make things like applying for jobs, accessing services or supporting children with their learning much more difficult.
By providing these laptops, we hope to help remove some of those barriers and give more families the opportunity to develop their skills and confidence online.
Jonathan Nixon, Headteacher at Cavendish Primary School, said:
“We are delighted to receive this donation from Accent Housing. Having access to technology is essential in today's world, whether it's applying for jobs, supporting children's learning or accessing important services. These laptops will make a real difference to families in our community and help remove some of the barriers they face.”
The laptops will be used as part of community sessions at the school, giving parents a welcoming place to learn new skills, access online resources and get support with employment opportunities.
For us, it's about more than donating equipment. We want to work alongside organisations in our communities to understand where we can make a meaningful difference and help create opportunities for the people who live there.
