Accent Named Housing Association of the Year 2026

We’re proud to share that Accent has been named Housing Association of the Year 2026 at the Housing Executive Awards.

Our Ripleyville development was also Highly Commended in the Best Affordable Housing Development category, recognising our work to provide good-quality, affordable homes for our customers and communities.

The recognition comes in a particularly special year for us as we celebrate 60 years of Accent. Since 1966, we’ve been providing homes and supporting communities, and this award is a proud moment as we look back on how far we’ve come and ahead to how we can continue to improve for our customers.

The winners of the 2026 Housing Executive Awards were announced at a ceremony at Bolton Wanderers Football Club on Tuesday 6 October.

Recognising people across Accent

We went into the awards with six nominations across a range of categories, recognising not only our homes and services, but the people making a difference for our customers and communities.

Alongside our Housing Association of the Year and Best Affordable Housing Development nominations, we were shortlisted for Best Social Value Project.

The awards also recognised some of the brilliant people who are part of Accent. Customer Jackie Best and colleague Tanya Scott were both recognised in the Women in Social Housing category, while colleague Tia Hobley was shortlisted for Rising Star/Best Trainee.

Our Chief Executive, Nick Apetroaie, said:

“Winning Housing Association of the Year is a huge honour, but this award isn’t about one person or one team. It belongs to every colleague, our partners and stakeholders who help us along the way and, most importantly, to our customers.

“Every day, colleagues across Accent go above and beyond to provide good homes, support our communities and make a difference to people’s lives. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and this recognition is a wonderful reflection of the commitment, care and hard work that goes into supporting them.

“We know there is always more we can do, and we can do that by listening and learning. We’ll take this award as both a proud moment and a motivation to keep improving.

“I’m incredibly proud to be part of the Accent team and grateful to everyone who has played their part in getting us here.”

A proud moment, and motivation to keep improving

Being named Housing Association of the Year is something we’re incredibly proud of, but we know that awards are only one measure of our success.

What matters most is the experience our customers have living in an Accent home and the service they receive from us.

As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we’ll continue listening to our customers, learning from their experiences and working with our colleagues, partners and communities to provide good homes and build better futures.
