Meet Effie Asmah, our Board Trainee
Effie is a Board Trainee at Accent Housing, having joined on 1 February 2026 through the Housing Diversity Network programme. She is an emerging governance professional with a strong commitment to public service, equality, diversity and inclusion, and community engagement, bringing a fresh and informed perspective to board discussions. Alongside her trainee role, Effie works as the Emerging and Early Talent Lead at Westminster City Council, where she leads the council’s graduate and apprenticeship programmes and supporting organisational talent development workforce planning and future leadership initiatives across the organisation.
She has developed experience in governance, leadership and stakeholder management through programmes such as the Black on Board initiative, equipping her with an understanding of board responsibilities, risk and compliance. Effie is passionate about amplifying diverse voices and contributing to inclusive, customer-focused decision-making.
