Meet Nick Apetroaie, our Chief Executive
Nick Apetroaie joined Accent in 2024, bringing extensive housing expertise and more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across housing, healthcare, education and charity sectors.
Prior to joining Accent, Nick served as Chief Executive of Habinteg Housing. During his tenure, he strengthened the organisation's approach to customer engagement, embedded a strong customer-focused culture, accelerated investment in existing homes, and successfully restarted Habinteg's development programme. He also enhanced Habinteg's influence at both local and national levels in promoting accessibility and inclusion, while leading the organisation back to the highest regulatory governance rating of G1.
Before Habinteg, Nick held a number of senior leadership positions with Viridian Housing, Optivo and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). Across these organisations, he led major transformation programmes that improved customer experience, strengthened organisational culture, and delivered a wide range of service improvements initiatives.
Nick also brings non-executive governance experience and currently serves as a Board Member of The Guinness Partnership, where he chairs the Customer Committee. His experience in governance, regulation and customer services supports his commitment to ensuring that customers remain at the heart of decision-making.
