Accent Tops Sector for EPC A-Rated Homes | Inside Housing

We’re proud to share that Accent has been recognised by Inside Housing as the top developer in our sector for delivering the highest number of EPC A-rated homes. 🌍🏡

This recognition reflects our commitment to building sustainable, future-proofed homes, reducing fuel poverty by lowering energy costs for customers and creating communities that thrive for generations.

Over the last year alone, 72% of our new homes achieved EPC A which signals a significant step forward in our ambition to deliver 3,600 affordable, sustainable homes by 2031. Alongside this, our retrofit programme is improving the efficiency of thousands of existing homes. We finished the year with 84% of our homes at EPC C or above, and we are continuing to work towards our target of all homes reaching at least EPC C by 2030. This is supported by new funding through Wave 3 of the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund (WH:SHF), which will enable us to retrofit a further 414 existing homes.

Our developments at Belsar Grange in Willingham and Bottisham Meadows near Cambridge show how EPC A homes can do more than reduce bills - they can also strengthen communities, enhance biodiversity, and provide the long-term security families need. Nick Apetroaie, Chief Executive, said:

“Being recognised as the sector’s top EPC A builder is something we’re incredibly proud of. But the real achievement is what sits behind that: homes that are affordable to run, communities that are stronger, and a housing stock that’s future ready. This is about more than energy ratings, it’s about giving people the foundations to thrive in safe, sustainable homes. This result also reflects the outstanding skills and commitment of our development team in delivering high-quality homes that meet the needs of today’s customers and are designed to stand the test of time.”

At Accent, every development and every retrofit is an opportunity to do things better. Together, they’re helping us build a fairer, greener housing future.
