Accent Housing has announced the appointment of Gerraint Oakley to Accent Board. Gerraint took up the role on 1 February 2026.
Gerraint brings extensive executive and non-executive experience across the private and not-for-profit sectors, with particular expertise in strategic asset management, sustainability, growth and development. He has led significant organisational and structural change and brings valuable insight into the regulatory and consumer environment facing housing providers.
Alongside his Board appointments, Gerraint will also sit on Accent’s Capital Investment Committee, supporting oversight of the organisation’s long-term investment, asset and financial strategy.
In addition, we welcome two new independent members to Accent’s Customer Experience Committee as part of a planned succession process. Naomi Sweeting brings executive-level experience across both the social and private housing sectors, with a strong background in customer strategy, data-led decision-making and regulatory insight. Phil Morgan brings more than a decade of experience in the social housing sector, with deep expertise in tenant voice, governance and regulation.
“I am pleased to welcome Gerraint to the Board. He brings a strong blend of strategic, commercial and sector insight, alongside a clear understanding of the regulatory and governance responsibilities facing housing associations today. His experience in asset management and sustainability will add real value as the Board continues to provide robust oversight and support Accent’s long-term ambitions.” - Nigel Wright, Chair of Accent.
“Gerraint joins Accent at an important point in our journey. His experience across a range of organisations and his understanding of the housing sector will be key as we continue to invest in our homes, strengthen our approach to sustainability and deliver our corporate strategy. I’m looking forward to working closely with him as we take Accent forward.” - Nick Apetroaie, Chief Executive at Accent.
