Meet Gerraint Oakley, our Non-Executive Director

Gerraint is a highly accomplished business leader with over 20 years of executive and non-executive director experience across the private housebuilding and affordable housing sectors. With a proven track record in business transformation, strategic growth, and operational excellence, he has successfully led organisations through turnaround strategies, complex regeneration projects, and large-scale housing developments across the UK, Europe, Turkey, and North Africa.

Currently serving as Chief Growth and Development Officer at Platform Housing Group, Gerraint has played a pivotal role in expanding the organisation’s land-led model to develop over 1500 mixed-tenure homes annually. Additionally, as Executive Director of Strategic Asset Management and Sustainability, he led a fundamental business restructure, reinforcing the group’s commitment to sustainable housing and modern methods of construction (MMC).

Prior to this, Gerraint held leadership roles at Keepmoat Homes, where he was Regional Managing Director in the South-West regional business, and at Curo Homes, where they established a private housebuilding division.  Earlier in his career, he served as Managing Director at Coastal Housing Group, where he led inner-city regeneration projects, and as Board Director at Barratt Developments Manchester, where he delivered strategic growth initiatives.

Beyond housing, he has extensive experience in corporate strategy and large-scale capital management, including a tenure as Global Property Strategy Director at Vodafone, where he managed an OpEx spend of €1.6 billion and delivered multimillion-pound cost savings through procurement and process optimisation.

A recognised industry leader, Gerraint has held multiple Chair and non-executive director positions, including at Ongo Housing, Linc Cymru Housing Association, Wandle Housing Association, and Cynon Taf Community Housing Group. He is Chair at Community Housing Cymru.

With deep expertise in strategic leadership, governance, financial control, and stakeholder engagement, Gerraint continues to drive innovation and sustainable growth in the UK housing sector, shaping the future of affordable and mixed-tenure developments.
