Accent Housing has a long-standing presence in Fenland and is the second largest housing provider in the district. Buttercross Place in March, Cambridgeshire, is made up of 50 new homes with a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom bungalows and houses, all available exclusively for Affordable Rent.

The development takes its name from the historic Buttercross building in the town of March. A Buttercross is a type of market cross traditionally found in English market towns, often serving as a covered marketplace where local people sold butter and other dairy goods - a nod to the area's heritage and community roots.

Buttercross Place is located less than a mile from March town centre, with access to a full range of amenities including major supermarkets, pharmacies, a dentist, GP surgery, library, and restaurants. There are 19 schools in March, ranging from pre-schools to a community college. Norwood Road Nature Reserve is just a 10-minute walk from the site, offering green open space for residents to enjoy.

The development is under a ten-minute walk from March train station, which provides regular direct services to many destinations, including employment hubs such as Peterborough and Cambridge.

All homes are expected to be completed by winter 2025.

Buttercross Place is being delivered in partnership with Burmor Construction and is supported by grant funding from the Affordable Homes Programme 2021-2026.

Homes are being built to high energy efficiency standards and are designed to achieve an EPC rating of A.
