New Year, New Home: Discover Shared Ownership with Accent

We are inviting Cambridgeshire residents to start 2026 with a fresh opportunity to get onto the property ladder, as part of our New Year, New Home campaign delivered through our sister company Homemade Homes

Throughout January, we will be hosting a series of in-person Shared Ownership events across the region, giving prospective buyers the chance to explore new homes, meet the team and find out how Shared Ownership could work for them, and with reduced fees available for a limited time.

The events are designed to break down common myths around Shared Ownership and show how it can offer a more accessible route into homeownership.

Event dates and locations:

Thursday 15 January – Hampton Green, Peterborough

Saturday 17 January – Brunswick Fields, Long Sutton

Saturday 24 January – Monks Meadow, Spalding

Tuesday 27 January – Mereside Green, Willingham

Thursday 19 February – Dunham View, Little Downham

Visitors can drop in throughout the day to view homes, ask questions and get tailored advice in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Shared Ownership allows buyers to purchase a share of their home and pay rent on the remaining portion, reducing the size of deposit needed and making monthly costs more manageable. Buyers can increase their share over time through a process known as staircasing.

Contrary to popular belief, Shared Ownership is for everyone (not just first-time buyers) and is designed to help people who may otherwise struggle to buy on the open market.

Our Homemade Homes developments are in established, well-connected communities, offering access to green spaces, parks and local amenities. Homes are designed with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind, helping customers reduce both their environmental impact and energy bills.

From family-friendly communities and neighbourhoods to quieter rural settings, each development focuses on creating places people are proud to call home.

Lisa Pearson, an Accent and Homemade Homes customer, said: “After my marriage ended, buying a home felt out of reach. Shared Ownership with Accent and Homemade Homes made it possible for us to have a stable, affordable home that works for our family now and in the future.”

As part of the New Year, New Home campaign, we are offering reduced fees throughout January, giving buyers even more support to take their first step towards homeownership.

“Our homes are designed not just to be places to live, but places where communities can thrive. We focus on creating communities with access to green space, strong local connections and energy-efficient homes that are better for both residents, customers and the environment. These developments are about long-term, sustainable living, supporting healthier lifestyles and stronger communities from day one.” - Steve Morris, Executive Director of Development and Sales at Accent.
