Get Online Week 2025 | Helping Accent Customers Build Digital Confidence

Get Online Week has been held every year since 2007. This year, it runs from October 20th to 26th.

The campaign aims to help hundreds of people discover the benefits of being online and build their confidence in using the internet.

Accent has signed up to support the campaign, and we are working with a number of agencies to support customers access services online, you can find some free online courses from AbilityNet and Good things Foundation.

Why digital skills matter now more than ever

In today’s world, getting online is crucial. 90% of jobs are only advertised online - yet our latest poll discovered over a quarter of people aren’t confident using the internet to compete for jobs.

Online shopping can save you an average of £3.29 per purchase - yet one in 10 people aren’t confident managing finances online, and 61% of people worry about the security of their personal details online, holding them back from making the most of the internet.

There are many advantages to being online, services can be instant and finding information has never been easier. As an Accent customer, using our online service, My Account, and our website, gives you access to a whole range of services from contacting us, reporting repairs online, reading our latest news and updates, finding out how to get involved or simply like part of a community. Accent operates in lots of area across the country and it may surprise you to know just how many homes we provide and communities we serve.

For Get Online Week and beyond, we will be working to help our customers who can’t access the internet, for whatever reason, to do whatever we can to make sure that if they want to access services online, they feel safe and comfortable and have the skills to do so.
