If your roof ever needs... to be replaced or repaired

We will get in touch if we ever need to repair or replace your roof.

We will let you know which contractor will be doing the work. The contractor will also be in touch to say hello, explain what the work involves, and to let you know when, and how long, the work will take.

Our leaflet, 'Your home is soon to have… a new roof or roof repairs' provides important information to help the work in your home run smoothly, together with details of the work we will do and how it will affect you.

When work is due, a liaison officer from the contractor carrying it out will visit you to make sure you understand what is involved and to agree a start date with you. This officer will contact you directly, either by phone or letter, to arrange a suitable appointment. This officer will be your main contact while the work is being done and will help you with any questions or issues you may have.

The safety of you and your family, and our contractors, is our top priority. Our contractors should always wear the correct PPE, (personal protective equipment) but, if you feel they are not, or you feel at risk in any other way, please let us know straight away. We will never risk your safety, and neither should our contractors.

Before work can start, we may need to carry out an asbestos survey in your home to check if any asbestos is present. We need to check there is no hidden asbestos which could be disturbed when work is being done. There is no need to worry about this. If a survey is needed, it will be done by our specialist contractor, Environtec, who will contact you directly to make an appointment to carry it out. The survey will cover the inside of your home but will focus mainly where the work is being done. If any damage is caused, we will repair it when the work is finished. Not every home will need a survey, so there is no need to worry if Environtec don’t get in touch. If you have any questions, or would like more information, please get in touch.

I’m a leaseholder/homeowner, how does this affect me?

We will only carry out works to your roof if your agreement with Accent confirms that we are responsible to repair and maintain it. If you're wanting to replace the roof yourself and your agreement confirms you are responsible to do this, you may need our consent before you get started, so please bear this in mind. If you are unsure about what your agreement says, please contact us and a member of the Leasehold and Homeownership team will be happy to help.
