Accent Board Trainee

What’s Included:

  • Regular attendance at Board and Committee meetings

Delivered in partnership with HDN, the programme supports succession planning by developing diverse future board members for the housing sector. You’ll gain practical knowledge in areas such as:

  • Governance and regulation
  • Housing policy and strategy
  • Financial oversight and risk management
  • Customer engagement and service design
  • Health and safety, transformation, and asset management

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • A genuine passion, lived experience, or understanding of the social housing sector
  • A strong focus on achieving positive outcomes for customers and communities
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm to learn about the role of a Board Member
  • Ambition, organisation, and self-discipline to make the most of the opportunity
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • A commitment to impartiality, objectivity, and integrity in decision-making
  • A demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and an understanding of how these values impact underrepresented groups
  • A high degree of confidentiality

Key Dates

·        Applications will close on the 2 November 2025

·        Interviews will take place 19 November 2025

·        Final appointments will be confirmed in early December.

·        The Board Trainee role will commence in January 2026.

·        First board meeting will take place virtually on 11 February 2026.
