KIRSTY SPARK
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND BUSINESS SERVICES
Kirsty joined Accent in 2018 as group financial controller, leading the corporate finance team.
Kirsty is a graduate of the University of Leeds (Geography and Geology). She started her career in the external audit team of Grant Thornton, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2002. She moved into the housing sector in 2004, when she joined Bradford Community Housing Trust, (now Incommunities), shortly after their transfer from the local authority. During her 7 years there she held several financial management posts before moving to the newly formed Leeds City College in 2011 as performance and reporting manager. The role focussed on driving improvement and financial reporting within the business. Kirsty progressed quickly taking on a number of senior roles culminating in the role of director of finance. In her time at the college, she led on the implementation of a new financial forecasting and budgeting framework alongside a significant culture change programme embedding empowerment and accountability across the business.
Kirsty has vast experience in treasury management and refinancing, budgetary management and control, statutory reporting and compliance and staff growth and management.
Outside work, Kirsty enjoys spending time walking in the local countryside with her children and husband, travelling and baking.
