National Fraud Initiative

Preventing Fraud

Helping to prevent fraud is very important to us, that is why we are pleased to be taking part in the Government's National Fraud Initiative again this year.

The Cabinet Office has the power to carry out a data matching exercise under Part 6 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. This means it isn’t covered by data protection legislation or the GDPR, so we don’t need permission to share your information.

A full list of the information we give to the Cabinet Office is in their guidance, which can be found on the Gov.UK website.

The Cabinet Office has a 'Code of Practice' for data matching.

For further information on the Cabinet Office’s legal powers and the reasons why it matches particular information, visit their website.

If you would like more information on data matching at Accent, please email business.assurance@accentgroup.org.
