As well as lush greenery, Peterlee is located just minutes from the coast, meaning you can enjoy the beaches of Seaham, Horden and Blackhall Collier during the summer months. Castle Dene Shopping Centre offers a wide range of shops, including high street favourites.
And the town’s leisure centre, which recently underwent a £2m revamp features a gym, two swimming pools and Swim England swim classes, badminton and squash courts, multipurpose studios and spin bikes.
In addition, Peterlee is less than a 30-minute drive away from Durham city, Sunderland and Hartlepool, which is an ideal commute time for those working outside of the town.
Not that you would have to leave the town for work – there are numerous industrial sites in the area offering significant employment for the town.
Peterlee is also incredibly affordable, offering value for money and affordable housing. There is a wide range of schools in the areas surrounding Peterlee, including several primary schools and secondary schools with Outstanding and Good Ofsted ratings.
