Yes, Lancashire is considered a safe place to live. A ‘Living In Lancashire’ survey found that 87% of respondents consider their local area to be a safe place to live.
As with any county, there are areas of Lancashire that have experienced moderate to high crime rates over the years. But these rates are reducing year on year. For the most part, Lancashire is a great place to live. In fact, it is home to some incredibly safe places.
The South Ribble Valley, for example, has been named one of the top safest places to live in the North West of England. Aside from being safe, the South Ribble Valley also offers a range of fantastic amenities and outdoor spaces. Worden Park in Leyland has been ranked among the top 20 parks in the UK for two decades and has won 20 Green Flag Awards.
Similarly, the charming town of Clitheroe in the Ribble Valley has previously been named the happiest place in the UK! It offers a selection of schools that are well above the national average and repeatedly ranks as one of the safer places in the North West.
The small town of Chorley also surveyed its residents and found that 92% feel safe during the day and 71% feel safe at night. The town was described as a “very safe place to live, work and visit”.
