REPAIRS UPDATE: 1 June 2020

Great news!

We are now planning to re-start all our repairs. These are the dates we have planned, but we may have to change them in areas that are being affected differently by the virus. We will let you know if we need to make any changes.

‘General Needs’ Homes (homes not designed, built, adapted or managed for residents with needs)

  • Outside communal and outside individual repairs – week commencing 25 May 2020.
  • Inside communal repairs – week commencing 1 June 2020.
  • Inside individual repairs – week commencing 8 June 2020.

Independent Living and Extracare Schemes

  • Outside communal and outside individual repairs - week commencing 13 July 2020.
  • Inside communal repairs – 20 July 2020.
  • Inside individual repairs – 27 July 2020.

We hope to start planned maintenance work from 1 August 2020 and we are already working in some of our empty (void) homes. When we start up our repairs, it may mean our service isn’t the same across everywhere for the time being while everything settles down.

We hope you can bear with us, as we will be playing catch-up for a while with our service, but we will try to get back to normal as soon as we can when lockdown is eventually lifted, depending on how the government lifts it. There may still be restrictions in some areas and with some services.

Future Improvements

We are also working on improving our whole repairs service. In the future, how we diagnose and schedule repairs will be better, and we will use your feedback to continually influence and improve what we do. Our staff will be able to raise repairs on site, so we can make appointments with you there and then. We’ll be working on all this over the next few months and we’ll keep you posted.

We are still carrying out essential servicing and health and safety work, and we are currently reporting our lowest ever overdue safety checks. Thanks to everyone who has let our contractors in to carry these important checks, they help to protect both you and your neighbours. Our contractors will continue to contact you to arrange these appointments and will, of course, follow the government guidance on social distancing.

We will keep you updated on the changes as we make them. Thank you for being patient and please remember to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.
