Cooker Safety Notice

Sadly, there have been reports of a recent incident where someone, (not an Accent customer), closed the grill door on their cooker whilst grilling food and was severely affected by carbon monoxide poisoning.

When you grill food, you must leave the grill door open to avoid overheating and a possible fire, and to stop dangerous gases building up.

The cooker involved was manufactured by the company who produce Belling, Stoves and New World Gas Range Cookers with Gas Grill (110, 100 and 90 models). These models now carry a risk to health and death warning if the grill is used with the door closed. According to the manufacturers, the models will usually have been bought between 2010 and 2022.

Here is a link to a product safety report on the Gov.UK website.

We know from our appliance safety check records that some of you have these models in your home, so please make sure you follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully for proper use.
