Building on Strong Foundations: Our new Corporate Strategy 2024-2027

We have launched our new corporate strategy 2024-27 that sets out our direction for the next three years.

The strategy is called ‘Building on Strong Foundations’ and outlines our vision for Accent and the steps we will take to get there.

Our vision is that we believe that helping to solve the housing crisis will provide people with stability, a foundation for better living and contribute to the nation’s wider objectives for local and national growth.

Our new strategy will help us to meet this vision through the delivery of four key strategic objectives from 2024 to the end of 2027:

  • Quality homes for the future
  • Excellence through customer-influenced services
  • Investing for success
  • Lasting change

These key strategic themes will be underpinned by our continuing focus on organisational resilience and making the best use of our resources with strong and effective governance.

You can view our new Corporate Strategy and read more about the actions we’re taking on each of these objectives our website.

Building on our previous strategy

Our new Corporate Strategy builds upon our previous strategy ‘Building Better Futures 2021-2024’, which was developed in consultation with our customers, partners and other stakeholders to set our foundation and strategic direction.

We embarked on a period of change to successfully deliver those priorities and we are now building more new homes, we are financially stronger and more resilient, and we have improved our visibility to bring our influence and resources together to tackle the real challenges faced by our customers.

Our new strategy ‘Building on Strong Foundations’ builds upon those achievements and has been developed based on customer insight.

What does this mean for you?

Our new Corporate Strategy means that we are prioritising our efforts and resources on what we believe is the most important thing, which is providing our customers with a safe, secure and affordable home in a thriving community.

However, we understand that there are real challenges faced by households including the cost of living, a shortage of affordable housing, and rising costs.

We also recognise that there is a wider housing crisis that prevents access to affordable homes and that some neighbourhoods suffer from the historic marginalisation of social housing.

Our new strategy enables us to bring our influence and resources together to help tackle these issues, with a particular focus on us having a more customer-led approach to improving our services.

Sarah Ireland, Accent’s Interim Chief Executive, said: “We believe that we have a fundamental part to play in helping to overcome the difficulties that many Accent households face and it is our responsibility to deliver our core services to the best standard possible so that all of our customers feel that it is ‘good to be home’.

“We believe that helping to solve the housing crisis will provide people with stability and a foundation for better living and contribute to the nation’s wider objectives for local and national growth and our new corporate strategy focuses on the key priorities to allow us to do that.”
