The homes were built to a high standard and their provision in accordance with S106 enables local residents to remain in the area, benefiting from affordable homes of excellent quality.

Fordham is a village in East Cambridgeshire, with a population of circa 2,700. Located close to the A142 and A14, giving access to Newmarket (5 miles) to the south, Ely (17 miles) and Soham (3 miles) to the northeast and Cambridge (15 miles) to the southwest. The site is located centrally in the village on land that was formally used by the adjacent garden centre.  

These homes were delivered in partnership with Hill Partnership Ltd.  

All the properties were designed to be energy efficient so that residents can heat their homes affordably, with all homes achieving an Energy Performance Certificate EPC) rating of ‘B.’  

​​A range of homes, from one bedroom apartments to a four bedroom house was provided and designated as ‘affordable housing.’ This range of homes has attracted a diverse community and allowed local residents the chance to either rent or purchase, through shared ownership a home in their local village of Fordham, Ely. ​  

The properties were completed in three handovers between November 2021 and May 2022.
