North Ormesby Wall Mural

OrmesbymuralFollowing months of planning and hard work, a wall mural charting the history of North Ormesby from the Domesday Book right through to the present day has now been completed.

Following a successful bid for £1600 from Accent resident Jan Ryles to the Accent Community Fund, work on the mural started in July 2015. Initially, staff from Accent and Keepmoat donated their time to repaint and refresh the underpass in the area near Margaret Street, before local artist Dezzy – who designed and painted the mural – could start work.

Despite months of bad weather, the mural was finally completed in January. Residents are delighted with the results and Jan is deservedly proud. "It’s been well worth the time and effort by all those involved," she said "so a big, big thank you to you all!"

For more photos of the mural see the Middlesbrough Facebook page.

We’ll be holding an official unveiling of the mural on Tuesday 26 January at 11.30am. Accent staff, the local press and Jan will be present, so please come along and join us.
