Akshay Shah
NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Akshay is a managing director within the Private Capital Investors group (PCI) at New York Life Investors.
Leading the London office, Akshay leads the Pan-European business and a team of investment professionals responsible for acquiring and managing assets across a range of sectors and geographies with AUM value of over $12 billion.
Prior to joining New York Life in 2018, Akshay spent almost 20 years as managing director at Barclays Capital, leading the European private placement team. His work included the origination, structuring and distribution of over $45 billion of European and Asian debt Private Placements whilst playing an integral role in Barclays becoming a consistent Global top 4 league table performer in the Private Placement market.
Akshay holds a BEng (Hons) degree from Imperial College London and is an Associate of the City and Guild Institute. He sits on the investment committee of PCI and leads on its mentoring programs.
