Our vision is to provide a home that you are proud to live in and as part of this, we are excited to let you know that your kitchen will be replaced between August 2020 and March 2021. 

In our earlier communication to you we have already told you which contractor will be carrying out this work in your home.  They will write to you about four to six weeks before work starts to introduce their service and provide details of the expected timing for work in your home. 

Our leaflet, 'Your home is soon to have… a new kitchen fitted' provides important information to help the work in your home run smoothly, together with details of the work we will be doing and how it will affect you.

If your kitchen has recently been replaced, we will not be replacing it again.  However, we will contact you and talk to you about it.

A liaison officer from the contractor doing the work will visit you before work starts to make sure you understand what is involved and to give you a start dateThe liaison officer will contact you directly, either by phone or letter, to arrange a suitable appointment. They will act as your main contact whilst the work is being done, and will deal with any queries or issues you may have.

We have worked hard with our contractors over the past few weeks to make sure the measures they have in place for when we re-started our repairs and planned improvements can keep you as safe as possible.All our contractors will wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment). There is no exception to this rule. If they are not wearing appropriate PPE, or you feel at risk in any other way, please let us know straight away. Our contractors must never risk your health or safety.

Although we are now re-starting our non-urgent repairs and planned improvements, we are asking for your understanding that the appointments we make may have to change if government guidelines change. We will always follow the government’s current advice and any guidelines from your local council. 

When contractors are in your home, or on your estate, please respect social distancing and don’t approach them. If you have any questions or concerns with the work they are doing, please get in touch.

Before any work can start, we may need to carry out an asbestos survey to your home, to check if there is any asbestos present. We need to check there is no hidden asbestos that could be disturbed when the kitchen is being replaced. There is no need to worry. If a survey is needed, it will be carried out by our appointed specialist contractor, Environtec, who will contact you directly, either by phone or letter, to make an appointment to carry the survey out. They may not need to survey every property, so there is no need to be worried if you are not contacted.

This asbestos survey will cover all the inside of your home, but will concentrate on the main areas in which we will be working, for example the kitchen.  We will repair any damage that may be caused when the work is finished.
