We can help you build up your skills through online training and support you to get in to work or develop your career.

If you’re not sure where to start, please contact your housing officer and ask for a referral to our tenancy sustainability team. They can help you to plan your next move and access the right services for your needs.

Whatever your situation, whatever your barriers, we can help you to overcome them and reach your potential.

Learn My Way is an online learning website provided for residents, and it’s designed to make getting online and learning new skills easy. You can access free online courses, guides and activities from the comfort of your own home or if you don’t have internet access, from your nearest UK Online Centre.

You can get help with your English language, writing or using numbers before you get started or jump straight in with a course on Making Money Work, Socialising Online, Job hunting Online and much more!

HfywomanwithbooksWe work in partnership with the National Careers Services to offer our residents free information, advice and guidance on learning and work opportunities.

The National Careers Service can work with you to choose or change your career, assess your skills and search for training courses, qualifications and jobs.

This service is suitable for residents who:

  • Have just left college, university or are unemployed and want to know more about career options and the local jobs market
  • Have been made redundant or are risk of redundancy and want to plan your next move
  • Are returning to work from time out
  • Need advice on qualifications and training to take your career to the next level
  • Are unhappy in your current job and are ready for a change, but not sure what your options may be

Jobs these days often require skills and qualifications, meaning making the right decisions about your learning and development is more important than ever. The National Careers Service can help you to identify your strengths, improve in your weaker areas, and help you find a job or career that suits your skills and personality.
