Community training
We can offer you and your family training courses and employment programmes that can help you develop more skills, get you into employment and change your life for the better.
Working with agencies like the European Social Fund, the Department for Work and Pensions, and the Learning and Skills Council, we offer courses that cover employment training, work based learning and job support. We also offer E-learning courses to all of our residents.
Accent Regeneration & Community Partnerships
Our specialist team of staff in Accent Regeneration & Community Partnerships (AR&CP) arrange and provide most of our residents’ training, and training for people living in your local communities.
From time to time, we also offer training from other organisations, such as Trafford Hall (the National Communities Resource Centre), TPAS, (the Tenant Participation Advisory Service), and PEP (the Priority Estates Project). Please click on each organisation’s name to be re-directed to its own website for more information.
We advertise the training schemes we are running in Your Voice, our residents' magazine. You may also see advertisements in your local neighbourhood newsletters, or receive leaflets through your letterbox if we are organising training in your neighbourhood that we think you would like to know about.
Most of our training takes place in our special training centres in Bradford, Burnley and Middlesbrough. Our training centres are fully equipped with everything you will need, and our staff are specially trained and qualified to prepare you for training and employment. If you would like more general information about our training, please contact your neighbourhood team.
E-learning
You can register for e-learning by visiting our e-learning website. Once on the site, click on ‘new user’ and complete your details to log onto the system.
Each course takes up to two hours to complete, but as it's e-learning you can dip in and out around other commitments and work at a pace that suits your individual style. Learning is tested through regular knowledge checks and a final course quiz. All courses are CPD accredited (Continuing Personal or Professional Development) and, upon completion, you can print off a certificate for your records.
Courses which are currently available are:
- Healthy living
- Managing a home
- Fire safety
- An introduction to health and safety
- A background to body language
- Climbing the career ladder
- Money matters (Financial inclusion)
