Accent owns and manages around 700 garages in Camberley, Surrey.
Over time, many had become rundown and in need of repair and they did not meet the needs of our residents.
With the plan to get them back into use, we invested £700K into an improvement project.
The scale of the project called for specialist help so we formed a partnership with Secure Parking and Storage (SPS) and GPS Facilities Ltd, who would act on our behalf in the repair and management of the garages.
The first major job was to remove asbestos, which we did through a specialist asbestos removing company. The roofs were then replaced with new anti-condensation roofing sheets.
All the garage doors were painted and replaced where necessary, along with general site improvements, which included removing foilage, and installing solar lighting and parking bollards.
The refurbishment is due to complete shortly. It will provide valuable extra space for residents in the area - and we will be a big improvement in appearance, which benefits everyone.
