Andy Summerscales, a Senior Housing Advisor in our Contact Centre explains what winning the 'Employer of the Year' award at the 'Bradford means Business Awards' means to him
I attended the awards ceremony last night and to my great delight we received the best accolade we could have possibly hoped for when we scooped the ‘Employer of the Year’ award.
I have been employed by Accent since December 2013, I initially started in the repairs team in Burnley. Since then I have continually developed and I’m now Senior Housing Advisor in our housing team based at our Head Office in Shipley. I’ve found being part of the team very challenging, but it’s been a very rewarding journey and I’m now best placed to deal with any query our tenants may have without the need to transfer them to other departments.
Since our move from Burnley and the creation of the contact centre in Shipley we have worked very hard in building strong, effective teams with a ‘can-do’ approach to getting things done. That is what makes winning last night’s award all the more satisfying, it’s recognition of the efforts that have been made by all the team. We are continually trying to improve our standards, whilst providing a first class service to our tenants and colleagues alike.
I feel very proud that through our hard work and determination we have helped Accent Housing gain the recognition I believe it deserves for being a fantastic employer. I feel very lucky that I can honestly say I look forward to coming to work every day. Since the creation of the contact centre I truly believe that we have helped transform the lives of our tenants and there is no better feeling than this.
The teams we have built have gone from strength to strength since the contact centre was opened and I am very confident that we will build upon our successes and I very much look forward to the future and the fantastic things to come.
