We are delighted to announce that Accent Group Chair Tom Miskell, has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List. This is a fantastic achievement and well deserved, coming in recognition of Tom’s services in housing.
Tom's honour comes in recognition of his work in the housing sector, in his unwavering commitment to providing more affordable homes and helping some of our most vulnerable people in society. His commitment is immediately evident to his colleagues on the Accent Board in the here and now, but his honour comes in recognition of his contribution to housing services throughout his career, not just with us, but in his roles at both the National Housing Federation and as Chair of the Northern Housing Consortium.
In speaking of his OBE, Tom says, “I was both honoured and surprised to hear I had been awarded an OBE. I would like to share the recognition with all the people I have worked with over the years in the housing sector, especially my colleagues at the National Housing Federation, the Northern Housing Consortium and Together Housing. I believe a housing organisation exists for its residents and I am fortunate enough and proud to have worked with colleagues who feel the same. This award as much their achievement as mine.”
Everyone at Accent would like to extend their congratulations to Tom. The honour is a fantastic acknowledgement of everything he has committed to in their careers and they are both well deserved.
