We have appointed Tom Miskell as a board member and Chair Designate.
Tom will take up the role of Chair in June 2016, following the retirement of our current Chair, Gwyneth Sarkar, as she reaches the maximum term she can serve on the Accent Board.
Tom, who is the owner and director of consultancy Tom Miskell Ltd, currently holds a number of management consultancy and non-executive housing roles.
He is Vice Chair of Johnnie Johnson Housing Trust, Chair of the Northern Housing Consortium and a Director of Devonshires Business Advisory Service (DBAS). Tom is also Chair of Pendleton Together Operating Ltd (PTOL) (Salford PFI).
Tom’s previous roles include Group Chief Executive of Together Housing from 2011 to 2014, Group Chief Executive of Transpennine Housing from March 2006 to 2011 and Deputy Chief Executive of Pennine Housing 2000 from 2001 to 2005. He has also held roles with Hacas Chapman Hendy, Hambleton Housing Association, Derby City Council, the Housing Corporation and the Civil Service.
In taking up the role, Tom said: “I am very much looking forward to becoming the new Accent Group Chair and delivering Accent’s objectives in what is a time of considerable change. I believe a housing organisation exists for its residents and, from what I know of Accent, I believe the Accent Board is committed to delivering excellent, value for money services to its residents, and maintaining an excellent relationship with them.”
