Making playtime safer

HoneyhillfenceAccent Nene has donated £3,000 to national children’s charity Spurgeons for their Honeyhill Children’s Centre in Paston, Peterborough.

The money will go towards creating a safe environment for the outdoor play area project which is expected to be used by more than a hundred children each week, when completed.

Regional Housing Director Damian Roche, said: “We are pleased our funding of £3,000 has helped launch Spurgeons outdoor project. The new fencing now makes the play area secure and safe for the children to use.“

Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator at Spurgeons Sally Chalfont said: “The donation for fencing from Accent Nene has given our outdoor play area project a huge kick start, which we are very grateful for. The Parents Action Group is working hard to raise funds to provide outdoor play equipment.”

Sally added that there is still a long way to go and is appealing to other organisations to help fund the project in time for the summer to allow the children to enjoy outdoor activity. Sally can be contacted on 01733 577611 for further details.
