A deserving charity has received £1,000, thanks to the Accent Nene’s community award.
The annual award was set up in the memory of resident Thelma Lewis who played a very active role in the Residents’ Panel – the residents’ group responsible for selecting the award winners.
This year, the panel were faced with an excellent standard of deserving entries, however, there was an outstanding winner, the Cruse Bereavement Care Peterborough and Huntingdon’s Children Group.
Paula Cash, Chair of Cruse, said “sincere thanks and much appreciation - we do not receive any statutory funding and make every pound go a long way – the funding will indeed help so many children and their families receive the support they needed when someone dies”.
