Social Investment

As we do not pay dividends to shareholders, the profits we make are reinvested directly back into the communities where and when they are needed most.

Making a real change is about empowering people to make a difference to their own lives, and removing the barriers that are stopping them reaching their potential.

Social Investment

To reinvest some of our profits directly back into the community, we have established a fund that can be used to make charitable donations to support specific activity.

Some of this fund, (the Community Dividend Reserve), is administered directly by our Residents' Panel. The rest is administered via Accent on Giving.

Here is a small selection of some of the recent projects we have supported.

  • £7,700 for a new mobility scooter park at Ramsey Park , Barrow-in-Furness.
  • £2,400 for the Barrow-in-Furness Community Gardens.
  • £10,000 for Focus on Grangetown, Teesside.
  • £20,000 to Sussex Oakleaf Housing Association towards the salary and related costs of a service user coordinator and volunteers.
  • £35,000 to the Hyndburn Management Project (Lancashire) towards the salary costs of a coordinator to manage and develop service delivery.
Our grants are not just short-term solutions and our support continues to work long after the funding has been given.
