The Skipton Development
Programme is a five year transformational project that will see
around £65million invested in this picturesque North Yorkshire
Market town.
After a protracted competitive
tendering process, Craven District Council chose us as its
preferred strategic partner to help it deliver more than 360 new
homes, (40% of which will be affordable housing). The programme
also includes a number of new town centre retail outlets, new
leisure and cultural facilities, public spaces and the restoration
of the historic Town Hall.
The announcement marks the end of an
extensive period of consultation and evaluation, and the district
council expressing confidence in our proposals as a vehicle to
deliver the best possible solution for the future of the town and
district.
The programme covers four key sites
within the town:
- Granville Street
- 81 new homes that will meet a range of
lifestyles.
- Horse Close - a
contemporary housing scheme of more than 230 new
homes.
- Town Hall - sympathetic
transformation into a cultural centre incorporating exhibition
galleries, a performance hall, a refurbished Craven Museum, a
tourist information centre and a range of meeting
rooms.
- High Street - a number of
new retail opportunities combined with 16 high quality
apartments.
