Reaching out to people with disabilities
Reaching out to people with disabilities - Disability
Discrimination Act 2005
For some time now, we've known that
some groups are harder to get to meet with, or speak to, than
others. People with disabilities are often among
these.
As part of the Disability Discrimination Act
2005, we really need to find out what our disabled customers think.
We want to make sure that there are no barriers that stop anyone
getting our services or our properties.
We need your help. We want to know what you
think about how:
- we develop new homes;
- we maintain and improve your
home;
- easy is it to get our services;
and
- well we involve you in running our
business.
How you tell us what you think is completely
up to you - we just want to know. You can ring us, write to us or
fill in the reply form using the link below. You could even join a
forum.
Joining a forum might sound very
formal, but it doesn't have to be. Forums aren't always meetings or
gatherings, they can just be a group of people who have similar
views to share. Views can be shared in different ways, including
telephone meetings and internet discussion
groups.
What you tell us will help to influence our
action plan, which will be published in December.
If you think you can get involved and really
influence the way we provide services, please contact Sheila Rush,
Equality and Diversity Manager.
Telephone: 01274 536 027 or

Please get involved if
you can, your views will really make a
difference.
