Employment Training
Our employment training provides personal development, training and employment programmes, and capacity building.
Working in the heart of some of the most deprived communities across the country, we work to help remove the barriers that stop people from these communities reaching their potential.
In particular, we work to help traditionally excluded groups gain access and training in industries in which they are under-represented. We do this effectively by tackling the barriers throughout the process and working with colleges, employers, trainees (and their families). The issues that have led to under-representation in certain industries can not be blamed on just one factor. It is only by working across this area that we can tackle all the issues and make such a positive contribution
Developing a skills base within communities is a key element to making that community sustainable.
We are working with disadvantaged groups to help reduce the skills base gap. These are not just more training schemes. As well as teaching the technical skills to do a job, the courses help trainees develop the life skills that help them make a contribution back into the community.
Key to the success of these schemes is the role of mentors. They work on each individual scheme to ensure there is a support structure to maximise success in terms of people completing the schemes, and then moving into employment or more advanced training.
Click on the links on the left and you will see the range of schemes we offer. We also work closely with employers to ensure that the trainees we produce are of the highest quality and able to go straight into the new roles in the most productive way possible.
We are very proud of the links we have built with local colleges to help develop strong effective training courses.
Most of all, we are proud of the trainees that have completed our courses who are now working and contributing to their own communities. This is the real measure of our success.
Our success in tackling worklessness in our communities has recently been acknowledged with a Housing Corporation Gold Award.
