Youthbuilding their way to a new home

Two young people have taken part in a pioneering Youthbuild
housing project in Harrogate. They got the opportunity to work on
the conversion of a property in Mayfield Grove, Harrogate,
purchased by Accent Foundation's Yorkshire region, which will
become their new home.
The trainees were chosen by Harrogate Youthbuild Trust because
they were keen to get themselves on the job prospect ladder and
have an interest in the construction industry. They also wanted a
home of their own.
They have been working alongside contractors to turn this
property into three self contained one bedroom flats.
Now the work is complete, these young people will have the
opportunity to move into the properties, which they will rent from
Accent.
Harrogate Youthbuild Trust brings together a range of
organisations including Accent, Harrogate Borough Council,
Harrogate College and the Golden Triangle partnership.
New family homes for rent in Halifax

Accent Foundation's Yorkshire region is very pleased to welcome
eight new families in Halifax as residents.
Nominated to Accent by Calderdale Council, they have recently
moved into new homes at Stansfield Close, Halifax.
The development of four bedroom houses has been built on the
site of a demolished block of flats, many of which had been sitting
empty for a long time as a result of anti social behaviour and
vandalism.
The new homes were made possible by investment from Accent and
the Housing Corporation.
Affordable home ownership in Leeds
March 2007
Accent Foundation's first ever shared ownership development in
Leeds has been launched. 14 one and two bedroom apartments and
duplex at Gladstone House, Morley are now being marketed by to
first time buyers. Prices start at £49,000 for a 50% share of a one
bedroom apartment.
The newbuild apartments are part of a larger scheme by local
property developer Life Homes. They all feature integrated kitchen
applicances, flooring throughout, overbath showers, electronic door
entry and gated parking.
