The Accent Home - innovative, sustainable and affordable new housing in our communities.

The Accent Home is built using modern building and procurement methods and sustainable materials based on extensive research from Dr Avi Friedman, director of McGill University's Affordable Homes Program in Montreal, Canada. Dr Friedman is a practising architect living in Quebec and has already seen his concept developed into 12,000 homes.

It is based on a narrow fronted, three storey town house, but it can also be adapted as a two storey or bungalow design. It can be available in detached, semi detached or in terrace style. Each home can be used as a large, family house or divided into a mix of single or two storeys.

Using innovative design, procurement methods and building processes and technology, reduces the time the home takes to build. It also reduces waste and saves on material and construction costs. The use of a standard design, combined with a catalogue of optional components and layouts, makes each home flexible and individual. The very latest in mechanical and electrical systems, including low energy lighting, under floor heating, IT and telecommunications can be installed, helping to plan for future needs.

The result is increased customer satisfaction and quality, with reduced defects and costs associated with future maintenance and repair.

It is this flexibility that enables us to react to local priorities and helps us to create a natural balance in our communities.
