Private Finance Initiative - PFI
This pioneering £47m
project called for the
development of 30,000 m2 of new facilities across
seven separate sites in the city - some attached to acute
hospitals, some in the community.
The facilities include:
- a small, 20-bed residential and rehabilitation unit for frail
elderly patients;
- a child and adolescent unit housed in a listed former judge's
lodging; and
- three major units with more than 100 beds each.
The project was financed, designed and built by an Accent-led
consortium. While the Trust continues to provide all clinical care,
we have a long-term operational contract to deliver property
maintenance, facilities management and hotel services.
The development has won a number of major accolades,
including Best Operational Health Project at the 2003 National PFI
Awards and Best Social Scheme from the RICS 2003 Pro-Yorkshire
Awards.
