Tony Gadie
Tony Gadie, BSc, joined us in 1997.
He served as Chairman of
Accent Yorkshire, (1998), and Deputy Chairman of Accent Homes,
(2000), as well as holding director positions on many of the
Group's subsidiary boards.
He was elected as Group Chairman in 2001, a
position he held until just recently in September
2007.
Tony was born and brought up in Bradford and, after studying Fuel
Technology at Leeds University, he embarked upon a wide-ranging
business career. Much of his career was spent in business
development and industrial marketing, holding senior management
positions with large corporate organisations in the energy and
construction industries. After spending some time in the local
family construction business, Tony moved to London, initially as a
Senior Manager in Gas Conversion and latterly with GKN Mills
Building Services. A succession of appointments as General
Manager/Managing Director of a number of smaller companies
followed. Tony continues to work as a self-employed management
consultant and is also currently a consultant advising a number of
small companies on matters of strategy and finance.
Tony now lives on Deeside and, when not visiting us, plays
golf and walks in the Cairngorms.
He has been branch chairman to a political association, and
Treasurer to the Donkey Breed Society.
Although Tony has stepped down as Chairman, we are pleased that
he will be staying on with us in other Board
memberships.
