Chris Nestor
Chris Nestor, joined the former Bradford & Northern Housing
Association in 1996 as a Group and North East Committee member. He
currently chairs the Group Audit & Governance Committee and the
grant- giving Accent Foundation.
Chris has in-depth experience of the
voluntary sector, charities and local government. He was born and
brought up in Halifax, West Yorkshire and has lived, worked or
studied in Surrey, Manchester, Oxford, Stockton and
Middlesbrough.
Chris is a Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI) and holds a
degree in Sociology and Diplomas in Planning and Management. He
worked in Strategic and Local Planning in local government and also
had particular responsibility for disability and diversity. Most
recently Chris has and is working for health related sub-regional
charities accessing trust and governmental funding.
Chris has been a member of regional grant distribution
bodies, the Community Fund and the Church Urban Fund. He currently
chairs Accent Foundation, which distributes £600,000 pa.
Chris is married with four grown-up children and is a
Justice of the Peace, Churchwarden and founder Trustee of Linthorpe
Community Association in Middlesbrough.
